Hi There. My name is Christopher Olewicz. I’m a historian and writer from Sheffield, United Kingdom. I’ve recently completed by PhD in American History (pending a few corrections) at the University of Sheffield, which I worked towards part-time, whilst working in the social enterprise sector.
Over the years I’ve amassed a collection of articles that I have written for online blogging site. Given the tendency for these blogs to disappear, I decided to back them up here.
Having largely completed my PhD I’m now looking towards new projects both in and out of academic writing. I’ve published two volumes of football history: Sheffield Wednesday: 20 Legends and Don Megson: A Life in Football.
I am a Director of Principle 5: The Yorkshire Co-operative Resource Centre, and act as editor of the Sheffield Co-operator Newspaper. I’m also a founding Director of the Gardeners Rest Community Society, a 420 member society that crowdfunded the purchase of the Gardeners Rest pub in Neepsend Sheffield. I was responsible for managing the crowdfunder, which raised £237,000.
